When we first arrived in Tokyo, the apartment we stayed in was on the direct line to Shinjuku Station. Naturally, we went there a bit, and naturally, I am now a bit nostalgic towards it.
A few of my favourite experiences are here, if you are interested:
Starbucks Shinjuku Southern Terrace - overlooking the train lines of the busiest train station in the world.
The Conran Shop - two floors that make up one of the most beautiful interior design and home wares stores I have ever seen.
The Conran Shop Cafe - I love their iced teas, iced chocolate, and banana smoothie, and usually try their cake of the day, which last time was a very welcome cherry pie. Their tiramisu is also genuinely tiramisu, which in Japan is saying something.
Tokyu Hands - an incredible haven of goods across nine floors. Cosmetics and beauty products took up an entire floor - think aisles of essential oils, everything you could ever need to make your own beauty products, as well as every hair brush, bath-made-in-heaven-product, and makeup brand you have ever seen.
And of course The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building - the ultimate tourist's free observatory.
(P.S. I've also heard the Park Hyatt Tokyo Delicatessen is blow-your-mind sensational, which is adjacent to The Conran Shop building if you are in the area.)
